🚨 America’s Great Parking Scam: Why I Wrote the Book — and Why I Filed the Lawsuit
And why you need to get involved now...
There are scandals in America that dominate the headlines every night. Then there are the scandals that affect millions of people every single day but somehow never get real attention. Parking enforcement falls squarely into that second category. Almost everyone has a story about a confusing sign, a parking app glitch, or a ticket that didn’t seem quite right. Individually they look small, but together they form something much bigger.

That’s why I wrote my new book, America’s Great Parking Scam: You’ve Been Robbed?! 📘. And it’s why I just filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in West Palm Beach. What started as curiosity about a single ticket turned into a deep dive into how modern parking enforcement actually works. The deeper I looked, the more questions I had. Eventually those questions turned into a case that needed to be tested in court.
Like a lot of things in life, this all started with something simple: a parking sign that didn’t look right. When I compared it with the federal traffic control standards that Florida has adopted, the differences were obvious. That led me down a rabbit hole of statutes, regulations, and contracts. Along the way I began to see how an entire enforcement system had been built around signage, apps, and automated ticketing. The question that kept coming back was simple: if the foundation is questionable, what does that mean for the enforcement built on top of it?
Once you zoom out, you realize parking has quietly become its own industry. Cities outsource operations to private contractors. Drivers are pushed into smartphone apps just to park legally. Data is collected, fees are layered on, and enforcement becomes increasingly automated. For most people, it feels like the system is stacked against them. 🚗💸
That’s why the lawsuit exists. If a government is going to fine people, threaten towing, or impose escalating penalties, the legal foundation for doing so has to be solid. The signs that regulate parking aren’t decorative; they are the legal trigger for enforcement. If those regulatory devices don’t comply with governing standards, it raises serious questions. Those are the questions now being asked in federal court.
The book explains how the modern parking ecosystem works and why so many people feel trapped by it. The lawsuit tests whether parts of that system are operating within the law. Together, they shine a light on a problem that has largely flown under the radar. Parking might seem like a small issue until you realize how many Americans deal with it every day. That’s when you begin to see the scale of it.
Out of this investigation came something bigger: the National Association of American Defrauded Parkers (NAADP). The name might sound a little tongue-in-cheek, but the problem is real. Millions of drivers are dealing with confusing signage, forced parking apps, and escalating penalties. NAADP is a place for people to organize, share experiences, and push for accountability. When enough people start asking questions, systems that once operated quietly start to change. 📢
If this issue resonates with you, there are a few simple ways to help. First, grab a copy of America’s Great Parking Scam: You’ve Been Robbed?!? and see how the system actually works. Second, visit www.ParkScam.com and click the Join NAADP tab to become part of the movement. Third, share this post with friends who have ever been frustrated by parking enforcement. The more people who understand what’s happening, the harder it becomes to ignore.
This is just the beginning. The lawsuit is now filed, the book is out, and the conversation has started. Parking enforcement might look like a small issue until you connect all the dots. When you do, it starts to look like something much larger. A national scandal hiding in plain sight. 🚨
