Next Time, I Will Do Better
I promise...
I messed up the live stream. Big time. I thought I knew more about the tech than I actually did. We did a practice run. I felt ready. I wasn’t. And when it mattered, things didn’t work the way they should have.
That’s on me.
More than 100 of you showed up live, took time out of your day, and trusted me to deliver a smooth, worthwhile experience. Instead, you got technical issues, interruptions, and frustration. You deserved better.
I’m sorry.
There’s an old saying: a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous. Today, I was living proof. I rushed it. I relied too much on “good enough.” I didn’t respect the complexity of what I was trying to do. And the result was something that fell short of the standard I hold myself to—and that you expect from me.
We recovered as best we could. John and I still had a strong conversation. The ideas were there. The analysis was there. But it wasn’t the same without you being fully part of it in real time.
Live means live.Energy matters.Interaction matters.And you matter.
That’s what was missing. So here’s the replay on YouTube. It captures the substance, but it doesn’t capture the moment we were supposed to share together.
Next time will be different. Not because I’ll “try harder.” Because I’ll prepare better.
I’ll rehearse more.I’ll simplify the setup.I’ll stress-test everything.I’ll have backups for the backups.
No shortcuts.
I’m grateful to you for sticking with me. For showing up. For being patient. For supporting this work year after year. That’s not something I ever take lightly. Mistakes happen. What matters is what you do after them. I’ve learned from this one.
